Carl Jaeger was born in Bronxville, N.Y., and grew up in Chappaqua, N.Y. He graduated from Horace Greeley High School in 1968. In high school, he participated in varsity football, basketball and baseball and was active in student government and the choir. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1962 with a B.A. in psychology. He was active in varsity baseball, sports radio announcing, Kappa Sigma fraternity and Sphinx Senior Society. He joined Time, Inc. after graduation and was involved in Time Life Books in marketing and executive positions and was publisher of Discover magazine. In 1986, Carl began a sports marketing and financial planning career that lasted until 1995. He is a certified financial planner. Carl and his wife Helen live in Norwalk. They have two sons, one in Los Angeles and the other in Ridgefield, and two grandchildren. Carl belongs to the Country Club of Darien and Dartmouth College Alumni Association. His interests included golf and paddle tennis for many years. Now he watches sports and financial news on TV.
