David Maloof was born in Mineola, N.Y., in 1958 and grew up in New Hyde Park, N.Y. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1976, where his activities were football, speech and debate. He attended Columbia University and was elected student council president, graduating in 1980 with a B.A. in history. He earned a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia Law School in 1983. David’s work career started as a reporter for Public Broadcasting Service in New Jersey in 1984. From 1986 to the present, he worked in international law, primarily with Maloof & Browne LLC. David and his wife Jean Sweeney live in Darien and have a daughter and son, both living in New York City. He has long served as a human rights volunteer for Churches for Middle East Peace. He belongs to St. John Church and is active in its Men’s Group, the Darien RTM Parks and Recreation Commission, Carnegie Abbey Golf Club in Rhode Island and the New York Athletic Club.
