John McKittrick was born in Indianapolis, Ind., in 1947 and grew up in Western Springs, Ill. He graduated from Lyon’s Township High School and from Butler University with a B.S. degree in 1969. At Butler, John was active in his fraternity, the tennis team and president of the campus YMCA. He started his working career doing advertising sales with the Chicago Tribune. In 1978, he joined Sunset magazine and became manager of the New York City office in 1983. In 1994, he joined Reader’s Digest, where he rose to eastern advertising manager. He joined Health Monitor Network in 2007, becoming advertising director to the company, which facilitates effective dialogue between patients and healthcare professionals. John and his wife Susan live in Darien and have two children and two grandchildren. John belongs to Wee Burn Country Club, where he is an avid golfer. He also enjoys bridge and skiing.
