Born on February 7, 1943, Ron was the son of the late Henrietta Jahnke and Peter Freres. He graduated with a degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and worked as a CPA at a number of firms, becoming a partner at Ernst & Young in 1977. He retired as a partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers and opened his own consulting business. Throughout his career he was very involved in the International Insurance Society.
Always an active individual, Ron was constantly on the move, playing bridge, socializing with friends, taking his wife to dinner, driving his grandchildren everywhere, and grilling out for family occasions. A selfless person, he gave everything of himself to make the lives of his loved ones better. Ron was an avid bridge player and an ABCL Bridge Life Master.
Ron is survived by his wife, Kristine Freres of Darien, his two daughters Kelsey Rothert and Jennifer Ziolkowski, his son Derek Freres, his brother Dennis Freres, and his three grandchildren Jack, Quinn, and Louise.
