Dave Weiss was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1947 and grew up in Floral Park. He graduated from Martin Van Buren High School in Jamaica, N.Y. He graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a B.S. in education in 1968 and was active in the Patterson Club, skiing, tennis, golf and platform tennis.  After graduation, Dave worked for five years for the New York City Board of Education. He then became involved in sales with Burlington Industries and West Point Pepperell until 1985. He worked for Drexel Burnham Lambert in New York City and Los Angeles until 1990. In New York and Connecticut, Dave worked for Merrill Lynch, various banks and Rafferty Capital Markets. From 2010 to 2018, when he retired, he was with BMO Capital Markets in New York City as head of Leveraged Finance Sales, Trading and Research. John and his wife Stacy live in Fairfield and have three children and two grandchildren. Dave continues his interest in skiing, tennis and golf in spare moments of leisure.
