William Jessup was born in Greenwich, Conn., in 1949 and graduated from Greenwich High School. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1971, majoring in hotel and food Service management. After graduation, he worked for major chains such as Sheraton and Marriott Hotels, advancing from intern to hotel and restaurant management positions. He also managed The Surf Club in Miami, as well as several yacht clubs along the Connecticut coast. He currently is executive director of the Landfall Marine Training Center in Stamford. William is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and provides new boat owners with support and training. William and his wife Barbara live in Darien. Besides sailing, he enjoys all water-related sports.
